October- breast cancer awareness month / Listopad- mjesec podizanja svijesti o raku dojke

October is a breast cancer awareness month. Early prevention is very important. Get informed. Read    how you check yourself for early signs of breast cancer (here - or just google it). There are also countless tutorials on youtube explaining how to do a home self-test. If you prefer, ask your doctor do explain the self- check procedure to you. If you notice anything that worries you, contact the doctor immediately.

  6. Really such a nice post, dear Ivana, and amazing illustration! Yes, early prevention is the answer. I know so many people who died from breast cancer, and it is so sad, so terrible, if only they had seen that before, so much life that was still so good to be lived and now... all gone, apart from memories, that should be cherished, of course. Hope you have a very great weekend, dear Ivana!!!!!

    1. thank you Denise. I'm sorry to hear you lost so many dear ones to breast canver...I can relate with you because I lost some family members to cancer as well. My grandfather died of lung cancer and my uncle too (this year sadly). My mother's uncle also died from lung cancer this year ( and he didn't even smoke) When it comes to breast cancer, both of my grandmothers had breast cancer but they managed to overcome it. My paternal grandmother died due to diabetis complications but she lived many years after being treated for breast cancer. My maternal grandmother is still alive, despite all the other health problems she had in the meantime...but cancer is a serious problem, I know many people who died from it too.

  7. Thanks for this important reminder! Early detection is so important and it really saves lives. A good friend of mine discovered a malignant lump in her mid 30's and thankfully it was early stage. She got treatment right away and has been cancer free ever since.

  11. Cancer is no joke and like you said Ivana, early detection is key. I'm so glad a whole month is dedicated to this killer. Hopefully with all the awareness being raised about it, medicine is getting closer and closer to a cure. Not just for bc but for all types of cancers. I had to have a repeat mammogram a year ago and it was very scary. Just getting that call to come back in was like a death sentence in itself. Luckily everything checked out. It does get tricky because I have implants and they try to get good shots from all angles.
A friend of mine is a bc survivor. She documents her journey and vlogs great tips on prevention and lifestyle modifications. I truly pray God a cure for this ugly disease is in sight.
Beautiful illustration of the lady getting a mammogram. You got skills girl!!!
I hope your week was phenomenal. Enjoy your weekend.

  17. Hello Ivanna! I love that you're always changing and mixing different topics (but all connected) in Moda Odaradosti. I have worked a lot in university with breast cancer campaigns because at my school we used to work with some associations. I think prevention is the most important part when it comes to Breast Cancer... prevention and also the value to communicate and! A few months ago my aunt died of breast cancer so imagine how this is affecting my family, of course we're all part of it! It is hard but not impossible!

I really appreciate your art when it comes to this kind of causes!

    Tons of love, my dear!

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism.
