Al cuore non si comanda




To have a heart is both a blessing and a curse.  Sometimes it feels more like a blessing, sometimes more like a curse. You cannot command your heart, the proverb says. That much is true. It doesn't mean we should let the heart command us in everything we do. Like with everything in life, it's about finding balance. Plus, the heart can be a heartless little dictator! Let it rule your life and you might lose yourself while following its every caprice. Forsake it and risk loosing your humanity....Perhaps it is best to do its job while you do your own...and  I guess hurting is in the job description of a heart...and I guess we just have to endure it. 

Imati srce je i kletva i blagoslov. Ponekad se čini više kao blagoslov, ponekad više kao kletva. Ne možeš srcu zapovijedati...tako kaže poslovica. Toliko je istina. No, to ne znači da srce nama treba zapovijedati. Kao i sa svime u životu, važno je pronaći ravnotežu. Uz to, srce zna biti mali bezdušni diktator! Dopusti da ti vlada životom i možeš se izgubiti u tome da udovoljavaš svakom njegovim hiru....Zanemari ga i riskiraš gubitak ljudskosti. Možda je najbolje pustiti ga da radi svoj posao dok ti radiš svoj....a čini mi se da je u njegovom opisu posla da boli i da tu ništa ne možemo osim to preboljeti.

    " I guess hurting is in the job description of a heart"... This feels like a post with spaces between the words. If only feelings could be more subject to our control; though then compassion wouldn't rise and, as you say, the risk would be loss of humanity.

    Mali bezdušni diktator :) Da, uglavnom, nažalost. Ali tako je kako je, neko ima veću kontrolu, neko manju, ja sam ova druga i to nije najsrećnija opcija, ali mislim da nije ni ova prva, kao što kažeš, važna je ravnoteža.
    Crtež je pravo malo savršenstvo! <3

    Ja sam kao mladja pokusavala zanemariti srce i nije nikako ispalo dobro. Danas jedino vjerujem srcu i ne idem u vecini slucajeva protiv njega. Neki ljudi su um a neki vise osjecaji... nikada nije pametno pokusavati biti ono sta nisi.

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! FORGIVENESS DAY BY URSULA K. LE GUIN (BOOK REVIEW AND AN AUTUMN STYLING)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you today? I'm back with another Ursula K. Le Guin book review. In this post, I'll review " Forgiveness Day" , a science fiction novella that is a part of the Hainish Circle. Published in 1995, "Forgiveness Day " won multiple awards. This novella is often published together with her other novellas from the Hainish Circle, and it can be find in various editions of Four Ways to Forgiveness and Five Ways to Forgiveness.   Thematically, this novella is a part of five stories featuring two Hainish planets, but it can definitely be read on its own. I think it functions well as a stand alone novella. I listened to it in audio form, and I didn't have any problems following the story.  The world building is simple and effective.
