      the colours are consistent with descriptions of Rusalka in slavic lore. They're fairies or spirits (there are different versions) and they are believed to dwell in water (lakes, rivers etc)...their hair is usually described as green and perpetually wet. So, the blue lips represent their connection to the water.

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. FORGIVENESS DAY BY URSULA K. LE GUIN (BOOK REVIEW AND AN AUTUMN STYLING)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you today? I'm back with another Ursula K. Le Guin book review. In this post, I'll review " Forgiveness Day" , a science fiction novella that is a part of the Hainish Circle. Published in 1995, "Forgiveness Day " won multiple awards. This novella is often published together with her other novellas from the Hainish Circle, and it can be find in various editions of Four Ways to Forgiveness and Five Ways to Forgiveness.   Thematically, this novella is a part of five stories featuring two Hainish planets, but it can definitely be read on its own. I think it functions well as a stand alone novella. I listened to it in audio form, and I didn't have any problems following the story.  The world building is simple and effective. I've been reading Maugham's The Complete Short Stories for some time now. I've been taking my time with this collection, but I enjoyed it a lot. SUMMER TO AUTUMN TRANSITION IN BLACK AND WHITE (MOSTAR)

 Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I'll share a few Summer to Autumn outfits I wore in Mostar. As I keep mentioning in all of my recent posts, I did some second hand shopping this Summer. I needed to make sure to follow my school's white and black dress code. This summer shopping I keep mentioning proved not only affordable, but also very successful. I managed not only to wear everything I bought, but also to transition all of my newly acquired items to Autumn. Now, you will see how I transitioned some of my newly acquired items for Autumn.  The whole shopping second hand thing in the Summer took me less than half an hour. I spent less than 20 euros in total. Not bad! It seems that the less I shop, the better I get at shopping. Sometimes too much of the good thing can be bad for you. If you shop too often, you might stop to enjoy it. It might become a need, and that never good. Shopping is best enjoyed in measure, for it was never intended to be an addictio

FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: WIW AS A WEDDING GUEST

 Hello! Welcome to a new Friday fashion illustration post. Technically speaking, the two fashion illustrations I'm sharing aren't new, but this outfit is. New in the sense that I haven't posted it before, not in the sense that the clothing items as new!  As you know, I'm the queen of shopping my closet. In this post, I'll share an outfit I wore for a wedding I attended recently. Ever since I got married and moved to Herzegovina, I had to become an expert wedding guest. In Herzegovina, you get invited to everyone's wedding, especially if you're Catholic. It's not unheard of for a wedding to have up to a thousand guests!  Once again I shopped my closet for my trusted items. I pulled out an elegant black midi dress with ruffles that I got in a collab ages ago and that I still wear. Upon glancing these photographs, I realized that I illustrated this dress before.
