DIY (embroidery)




Embroidery is all about the details. By definition it is the handicraft of decorationg fabric (and sometimes other materials but personally to me it seems to be something else) with a needle or tread. In Croatia there is a long tradition of embroidery, the finest kind is know as zlatovez (golden emboridery). 

I myself have been doing embroidery for years and I'm more or less selftaught. Seeing my grandmother do it, inspired me to try. My mum is also good at it, but she cannot draw so she must rely on a some kind design or ask someone to draw the design on the clothes for  her to fill in. As I said, emboridery is all about the details and a wonderful way to make your clothes look artistic and rich. However, embroidery is quite time consuming and it does require some skill. I usually do it when I'm in bed watching television because I just cannot bear to have my hand idle....

    Very pretty, can't wait to see it complete. I can't stitch at all, though I learned a bit when I was younger. I should re-learn sometime. Happy Tuesday doll xx

    oh, I admit it's really beautiful! This idea is just brilliant, this way you can decorate some curtains and tablecloths as well, to make home looks cosier and more original)

    As I've said before, I'm beginning to build a picture of you as someone who always has busy, creative hands. Your embroidery here reminds of a blouse I have that was hand made and embroidered with yellow flowers by a dear relative of my Grandmother's. I didn't meet Liduska, but I've seen photos of her at my parents' wedding and I like to think of her busy fingers when I wear the blouse she made.

FORGIVENESS DAY BY URSULA K. LE GUIN (BOOK REVIEW AND AN AUTUMN STYLING)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you today? I'm back with another Ursula K. Le Guin book review. In this post, I'll review " Forgiveness Day" , a science fiction novella that is a part of the Hainish Circle. Published in 1995, "Forgiveness Day " won multiple awards. This novella is often published together with her other novellas from the Hainish Circle, and it can be find in various editions of Four Ways to Forgiveness and Five Ways to Forgiveness.   Thematically, this novella is a part of five stories featuring two Hainish planets, but it can definitely be read on its own.  Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! It's almost ten. I've had a long week and I'm quite tired and sleepy. However, I'll try to wrap this post up for you tonight. What kind of post?
