DIY (earrings/ naušnice)

One of the tools that I  use most often for the DIY is believe it or not: nail-polish. There are many things it can be used for, as I will demonstrate with future posts, but the most important thing is that now you don't have to feel guilty about not spending all the nail-polishes that you have. DIY is always twice the fun when it includes  recycling,  isn't it? 

Jedan od alata koji najčešće koristim za uradi sam projekte je vjerovali li ne : lak za nokte. Za puno toga se može koristiti, kao što ću pokazati u budućim postovima, ali najvažnije je da se više ne morate osjećati krivim zato što niste potrošili sve lakove za nokte koje imate. Uradi sam stvari su najbolje kad uključuju recikliranje, zar ne?

BLOOD OF ELVES, A NOVEL BY ANDRZEJ SAPKOWSKI, WITCHER #3 (BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION)

 Hello. In this post, I shall review Blood of Elves , the third book  and the first novel in the Witcher saga.  The first two books in the Witcher saga are collection of short stories. So, Blood of Elves is actually the first novel in the series.  As I explained in my last post, I was a bit surprised to find out that  Sword of Destiny  was a short story collection (for some reason I thought it was a novel), but I was taken by it  immediately. Soon enough, I found myself enjoying the short story format. I must say, I ended up falling in love with the book (    SWORD OF DESTINY BY ANDRZEJ SAPKOWSKI , THE WITCHER SERIES #2 ) .   Nevertheless, I was really curious to read the first novel. Again, I took to it right away. Once I started reading Blood of Elves, I immediately felt drawn into the story. 10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Bellucci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.   The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Two outfits / Dvije odjevne kombinacije (collaboration/ suradnja CNDirect)

Yesterday morning a package from CNDirect arrived. I ordered and received this coat , this striped cardigan/jacket  and this blouse . I was impatient to try the coat on, but it was too warm during the day so I had to wait until evening hence the second set of photographs is a bit blurry. I wore the striped jacket over a dress in the morning and in the evening I styled the coat and the blouse I received in another outfit. What do you think about my outfits? Have I styled them well? Don't worry. I have no intention of jumping in. It is just that I've always been attracted to cliffs and chasms. Perhaps I had been a poet of romanticism in my past life. This could be called a 'blogger off duty' outfit. THE ISLAND OF THE MISSING TREES BY ELIF SHAFAK (BOOK REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION)

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. If I was a shoppingholic I would say : 'I was so happy when I bought this tote bag, I mean isn't this inscription so adorable?'. However, since I'm a DIYaholic, I must say: 'I was so happy when I hand painted this old tote bag. Isn't this incription I made so adorable?'. Hm, now that I think about it, there is a certain similiarity between a shopaholic and a DIYaholic. We're both passionate about things and we invest a certain amount of time in getting what we want.
