A city you should visit/ Grad koji biste trebali posjetiti...

Do you like to travel? One of the cities that I warmly recommend (for a visit or a stay) is Sibenik. The city center is as beautiful  as it was in the middle ages, so it will give you a feeling of stepping out of the time machine and finding yourself in another time and place.

Volite putovati?
If you ask me, the first place to see is the city Cathedral of Saint James. It left quite an impression on me.  The stone decoration (that you can see behind me) is as fine as lace!  The Cathedral of St. James is the most important Renaissance architectural monument in Croatia and it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 2000. It is utterly beautiful, I cannot think of a better way to describe it than that.

Sibenik- one of the parks in the city

The name for Sibenik in Croatian is Šibenik, in Italian Sebenico and in German Sibennig. The first written reference of this city was in 1066 and for a time it was the seat of a Croatian king Kresimir.

I was in Sibenik this Sunday and on the same day I also visited Skradin (where Bill Gates has been vacationing for years) and a little island Visovac (in the National Park Krka) where a monastery is situated. So, you know what you can expect in the upcoming posts.

If you do decide to visit Sibenik, keep in mind all those stunning (and just as rich in history) cities near by.  Be sure to visit Zadar, Trogir and Split. In addition, National Park Krka is just a few kilometers away from the city.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism.
