Today it's raining cats and dogs so I'm sharing some old photos. I suspect you won't mind as the location (Kravice Falls, BiH) is stunning.
Danas pada kiša kao iz kabla, pa ću podijelit neke stare slike. Mislim da vam neće smetat jer je lokacija ( slapovi Kravice u Hercegovini) uistinu prekrasna.

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
Hello, how are you doing? Today we're reviewing a non fiction book- The Shaping of the Modern Mind . Book reviews and recommendations are an essential aspect of my blog, but usually my reading choices lean towards fiction, mostly fine literature. However, today I'll be reviewing a book that could be labelled as an academical reading belonging to humanities. As someone who studied literature, this is right up my alley. The book is academical, but it's not hard to follow. Moreover, it's not very long either. It's not a comprehensive survey of modern thought, but it's an useful guidebook. This was also my first book by this author. I think I'll try and read more of him in the future. I should try and read more non fiction! How about you? Do you prefer fiction or non fiction? How to read more and/or transform yourself into a person that reads on daily basis? Learn these 7 reading strategies! I picked up this book at a vintage bookshop in Split . The books in
Hello dear readers! In this post, I'll share my impressions from Miro Gavran 's book promotion. Miro Gavran is an established Croatian author that I hold in high esteem. So, when I saw then he was coming to Mostar, I knew I had to be there, no matter how long my work day had been. Anyway, I'll also share with you what I wore to this book promotion. What you wear for book promotions? I attend book promotions quite often and I suppose I dress somewhat formal for them (example here ). I'm a Renaissance woman at heart. I remember how one of my professors (Slobodan Prosperov Novak) told me that in Renaissance people would get dressed up before they stepped into their libraries. They thought that one should dress up to be in presence of books. For, books are a collection of knowledge and art. So, dressing up to be in presence of knowledge and art makes perfect sense. A library is like a museum, really. One should have some decorum when it comes to books! I admit that I
Can we wear knits in spring time? I've been wearing them in spring time for a long as I can remember, but somehow I still find myself asking this question from time to time. Are sweaters really meant for spring? I suppose that sweaters and knits aren't the first thing that comes to our mind when we think of spring outfits. However, spring isn't always about perfect sunny weather. Sometimes we need layers and there is where knits come into picture. As tempting as it might be to pack all your cardigans and sweaters away once spring makes its appearance, sometimes it is really better to hold on to them. In reality, cardigans and sweaters can be your best friends in spring time. They are simply perfect for layering and we all know that layering is a must when weather is unpredictable. How to style knits for spring? They are actually not that hard to style, especially those that come in lighter or pastel shades. In my experience, most knits look great worn with jeans, light d
I was thinking about why I like tartan pattern so much, when one reason crossed my mind. I figured that it probably has something to do with the history and the culture behind this particular pattern. After all, I always say that traditional and folklore clothing (be it original or reproduced) carries additional value. Traditional patterns can be such an wonderful source of inspiration. Traditional patters have soul to them, one might say. The history of tartan is particularly interesting. Today we mostly associate tartan with Scotland, but according to some historians, tartan like fabrics were used by ancient Celtic populations spreading across the British Isles as early as the sixth and the eight century BC. Well, that one old pattern for sure! However, even if tartan clothes are really as old as ancient Celts, it is the still Scotland that is responsible for tartan we know today. Did you know that different tartan patterns can represent different Scottish families? Something like a
Hello, there! In this post, I'll show you my tips for styling statement balloon sleeves. I'll also add in a book review, because (to paraphrase) Oscar Wilde and Coco Chanel, a girl who should be four things: classy, fabulous, overdressed and overeducated. Wilde was known to be a dandy. The book I'm reviewing is titled Dandy, so there's a connection. Therefore, I'm combing these two quotes. Wilde famously said he makes up for being overdressed by being overeducated and Chanel said that a girl should be classy and fabulous. So, we shall combine outfit posts with book posts because being well read is basically the same as being well educated. Well, at least in my book. Mixing outfit posts with book posts, it's kind of more fun that way. I hope it's entertaining for you as well, because you can always fast forward the part of the post that's less compelling to you at the moment. Dandy was actually my first novel by Jan Guillou so I'm looking forwar
The Autumn has arrived, but if you happen to live in the Mediterranean area, the chances are you're still dressing for transitional weather. Today I'll share some outfit ideas for those tricky Autumn days when the weather is a bit on the unpredictable side. You know when it's still sunny but it's also windy and the weather might turn any second. The solution to this problem is often clever layering, but one needs to pay attention to materials as well. First I'm going to share a folklore inspired outfit with you. I do love folklore items (authentic or inspired) and I'm always trying to incorporate them in my outfits. Autumn is a great time to rock folklore inspired outfits. A FOLKLORE INSPIRED OUTFIT When it doubt, go with basics. There is something fresh about the combination of white with denim. A white shirt is something we should all have in our closets. Likewise, a good pair of jeans always goes a long way. My husband is always telling me I sh
Today I'm showing you another way to style this white dress I received from dresslink . You can see my first outfit here . This time I wore a vintage midi skirt over the dress, so I've basically turned it into a blouse. I wore a vintage scarf over it and accessorized with massive earrings and many bracelets to create a bit of the ethic/ traditinal vibe. To finish this look, I opted for a gold minibag and matching heels. As far as photograph goes, the shooting took place at two difference locations. One is in a small village named Vihovići, that is located in vicinity of Mostar and from this place you have a wonderful panorama of beautiful Mostar city. The second part of this shooting took place in Mostar itself. Which set of photographs do you prefer? Danas vam pokazujem još jedan način za nošenje ove bijele haljine koju sam dobila od dresslinka . Možete vidjeti prvu kombinaciju ovdje . Ovaj put sam nosila vintage midi suknju preko ove haljine , tako sam j
Today I'll share a new painting inspired by bay Torac (island Hvar) with you. The medium is watercolour pencils on mixed media paper. As you might remember, I visited bay Torac (island Hvar) back in June. I had stayed in apartment 4044 for a few days until the official start of summer (that also happens to be the birthday of one family member), then I went back to Mostar. Hotels and hostels are also a good option for your Croatian vacation, but personally I prefer apartments because they offer cooking facilities. Speaking of island Hvar as a vacay option, if you still haven't booked your summer vacation in Croatia, the apartment I stayed in is free from 17th of August until the 23rd of August (you can book it right away with this agency or you can make the reservation directly). If you remember, this apartment belongs to my parents, so if you want to negotiate a better price than what the agency is offering, send me an email and I'll forward it to them;). Nothing wrong w
Hello and welcome to the twenty-third post in TRAVEL WITH MY ART category. I'm really excited to share this acrylic painting with you because I have worked on it for such a long time. So, what was the inspiration behind this painting? Where are we travelling today? Once again I'm taking you to Zavala on island Hvar. We visited this place a few time on my blog but when a place is this magical you want to return to it. As you (regular readers) know, I absolutely love island Hvar. Not only do I have roots there, but I have spent a considerable amount of time on this magical island. Most of my summers really, not to mention the fact that I worked and lived on island Hvar full time from October 2019 to November 2019. Back in March, I started a new regular art feature on my blog with the goal of sharing my paintings and illustrations of different places. I named it 'Travel with my Art' because I use it to share paintings depicting different destinations. So far, I have pain
