My meditation upon winter trends 2012/2013



 Shiny colours (and materials)
There is no question whether vibrant colours are an eye- catcher. The question is... Will you incorporate them in your own personal style? Well, I guess as with every trend you should see if and how much it works for you. Naturally, if you have a more toned down style you can always opt for colourful accessories.
 
Skirt+ trousers
Wearing pants and skirts simultaneously? What do you think about this trend?
I think it can look good but you have to be careful how you go about it…However, if you like to experiment forget about caution and use this trend to be as original as always.

The East
Designers dream Oriental dreams, why shouldn't you?

Wear that belt!
It seems we started to wear belts over just about anything! If you ask me, it was right about time! What makes you more feminine than the emphasis being put on your waist? --- rediscover 'em again:)!

Decorative heels
I love them, but I think it is important that you match the rest of the outfit with it. Or not if you're into a more playful style or you know you can pull it off;) For all of you that are up for a little bit of DIY, this is the perfect time to take those old heals from the closet and jazz 'em up a little.

Oversized coats
What is not to love in this trend? You'd be warm and you'll look glamorous. Can it get any better?

Cobalt
I cannot emphasize enough how much I love this shade of blue. I love to see it just about anywhere: Painting, shoes, accessories etc.

Layering
Layering always adds that little special something to your outfit. Plus with the weather being as unpredictable as it is, what other choice do you have?

Black leather
Fake or real, leather is just so much fun! Baggie leather pants are the new in- thing, but I haven't seen them around much. Have you?

Patterns
Nothing like patterns to live up your style. Ah, I could talk all day about patterns. What about you?

White
Combat the "seen-it-all" by opting for white.  One thing I particularity love are the white dresses because they have something very romantic about them and there are so many ways to wear them.  If you have the guts, dress in all white.

Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! FORGIVENESS DAY BY URSULA K. LE GUIN (BOOK REVIEW AND AN AUTUMN STYLING)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you today? I'm back with another Ursula K. Le Guin book review. In this post, I'll review " Forgiveness Day" , a science fiction novella that is a part of the Hainish Circle. Published in 1995, "Forgiveness Day " won multiple awards. This novella is often published together with her other novellas from the Hainish Circle, and it can be find in various editions of Four Ways to Forgiveness and Five Ways to Forgiveness.   Thematically, this novella is a part of five stories featuring two Hainish planets, but it can definitely be read on its own. I think it functions well as a stand alone novella. I listened to it in audio form, and I didn't have any problems following the story.  The world building is simple and effective. I've been reading Maugham's The Complete Short Stories for some time now. I've been taking my time with this collection, but I enjoyed it a lot. FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY WATERCOLOUR: LONG DRESSES AND DE PROFUNDIS QUOTES!

 Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! It's almost ten. I've had a long week and I'm quite tired and sleepy. However, I'll try to wrap this post up for you tonight. What kind of post? Well, a post about art. Fashion art to be more precise.  I've been on a roll lately with my art posts. After a period of not posting my art at all, due to a variety of reasons, I started posting my art in every post. I got back to my destination art series, and now it's time for another post in my fashion art series. Friday Fashion Illustration  is somewhat of a regular feature on my blog. Today I'll share two watercolour pencil fashion illustrations of mine. I sketched both of them this Summer in my A3 mixed media sketchbook.
