Semptember favourites ( books and illustrations) / Rujanski favoriti ( knjige i ilustracije)


September has been a very active month on this blog. While August was all about fashion illustrations (with a bit of fashion and travel to spice it up), September turned out to be a lively mix of travel, fashion, book and art posts. There was plenty of writing too.  Often I was feeling quite philosophical on this little place of my own. Perhaps that means that it is time for this blog to take a new direction, one more focused on the writing. Who can tell for sure? Blogs change with us and they reflect ,in some ways, what is going on in our lives. What is a good blogging month anyway? The feeling we gave it all? I'm not sure what the next month will bring for this blog. I have a lot of prepared posts, but I'm not sure what exactly I will be publishing....and that is actually quite wonderful. That is what I like about the blogging. The element of surprise. Being able to surprise even ourselves. Enough talk for today. Time to sum it up and reflect on October. I've also prepared an outfit summary but I'm not sure yet will I publish it....As I was saying, you never know and that is where the fun in life is hidden:).

Rujan je bio vrlo aktivan mjesec. Dok je kolovoz bio posvećen modnih ilustracijama ( s malo mode i putovanja kao začinom), rujan je ispao nekakva živahna mješavina putovanja, mode, knjiga i umjetničkih objava. Bilo je tu i dosta pisanja. Često sam se osjećala raspoložena za filozofiranje ovdje na ovom mome malom virtualnom kutku. Možda to znači da je vrijeme da ovaj blog krene novim smjerom, onim koji je više usmjeren na pisanje. Tko to može reći zasigurno? Blogovi se mijenjaju s nama i oni na neki način reflektiraju što se događa u našem životu. Što je dobar mjesec za blog ionako? Osjećaj da smo se doista potrudili? Nisam sigurna što novi mjesec znači za ovaj blog. Imam dosta pripremljenih objava, ali nisam sigurna što ću točno objavljivati...i to je zapravo divna stvar. Taj element iznenađenja. Moći iznenaditi čak i sam sebe. Dosta priče za danas. Vrijeme je za sažetak rujna i pogled unatrag. Pripremila sam i sažetak odjevnih kombinacija, ali nisam sigurna hoću li ga objaviti....kao što sam govorila ranije, nikad se ne zna, a tu se zapravo krije zabavni aspekt život.:)

    Dobro si rekla, blogovi se mijenjaju zajedno s nama i mislim da je ponekad nemoguće predvidjeti u kojem smjeru će dugoročno otići jer ni sami ne znamo što će nam se sve tad motati po glavi. Ja uvijek par dana unaprijed pripremim nove postove, ali mi se često dogodi da me jedan dan baš pukne inspiracija za nešto treće pa onda promijenim raspored u zadnji čas. I apsolutno se slažem da je to baš zabavno :)

    Baš mi se jako sviđa ilustracija s narančastim pončom, veselim se novitetima u listopadu! :D

    Baš je tako. Blogovi se menjaju sa nama samima, a prva sam koja ne objavi baš sve što sam htela, i takođe mi se nekad filozofira, a nekad ne bih ni reč rekla. Nije potrebno ni analizirati previše već se voditi nekim svojim željima i to je cela poenta. Uvek kažem kako dok cenim osobu koja stoji iza bloga, znam da će mi se svideti i sadržaj. Ja baš volim kod tebe što je raznoliko i drugačije i ni blizu svim onim blogovima što su na isti kalup, a za koje sve manje imam živaca i vremena. Samo ti nastavi i obraduj nas čime god poželiš.     Io credo che tu faccia bene a seguire il tuo istinto nel pubblicare i contenuti del blog, sia perchè il blog è tuo e quindi è giusto che faccia come ti pare, sia perchè quando fai qualcosa con passione viene sempre meglio! :)

    As usual, amazing illustrations, dear Ivana, always so sweet, so sensitive... I like the way you write, philosophical is really VERY good, in my humble opinion. I think you are so right, the element of surprise is so good about blogging! I never plan posts - I usually have them ready on Tuesdays/Wednesdays to be on air on Mondays. Sometimes when the week is very busy I write on Saturdays. But never with weeks in advance, just a few days. I liked your way very much! Hope you have a nice weekend!

    Hey Ivana, it sure has been a fun September here. While I don't see all your posts, the ones I read were just oh so amazing. And I managed to read at least one in each category. You are very knowledgeable in every aspect be it fashion, travel, art and or books. You will be such a great resource for your students and colleagues when you become a teacher. And for anyone that encounters you for that matter.

    I'm loving the 'Purple lady'. Are those pencil shavings on her gown? Ingenious! Those sure created dimension, I love! Reminds me of Lady Gaga and her amazing ensembles, the best part being she can make a fab outfit out of anything. She is cooler than cool' is also a favorite. Legs for days! Just so fabulous.

    You write so well so I'm excited about the new dimension this space will be going. I'm also excited about your October posts. I'm sure they'll all be so awesome. I hope you have a very very fun weekend.

FORGIVENESS DAY BY URSULA K. LE GUIN (BOOK REVIEW AND AN AUTUMN STYLING)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you today? I'm back with another Ursula K. Le Guin book review. In this post, I'll review " Forgiveness Day" , a science fiction novella that is a part of the Hainish Circle. Published in 1995, "Forgiveness Day " won multiple awards. This novella is often published together with her other novellas from the Hainish Circle, and it can be find in various editions of Four Ways to Forgiveness and Five Ways to Forgiveness.   Thematically, this novella is a part of five stories featuring two Hainish planets, but it can definitely be read on its own. I think it functions well as a stand alone novella. I listened to it in audio form, and I didn't have any problems following the story.  The world building is simple and effective.  Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! It's almost ten. I've had a long week and I'm quite tired and sleepy. However, I'll try to wrap this post up for you tonight. What kind of post? Well, a post about art. Fashion art to be more precise.  I've been on a roll lately with my art posts. After a period of not posting my art at all, due to a variety of reasons, I started posting my art in every post. I got back to my destination art series, and now it's time for another post in my fashion art series. Friday Fashion Illustration  is somewhat of a regular feature on my blog.
