Where the sea is crystal clear......Gdje je more kristalno čisto.......

Split. This city is capable of producing magic. Very subtle kind of magic that gets under your skin without you noticing it. Split. Where the sea is always crystal clear. Split. My hometown, my childhood. Split. In English, this word has a meaning that is very close to my heart. I often feel like I'm split in two, split between my desires and my plans. My futile efforts to be at two place at once that are often reinforced my incredible stubborness that always seems to develop new dimensions. Typical Taurus. Always setting up hard tasks for myself, always doing my best to live up to (impossibly) high standards that I set up for myself. Well, almost always. Sometimes I go for a nice relaxing stroll with my husband and I share those photographs with you. It is such a joy to be oudoors when nature reawakes from its dream. These moments are when I don't feel split in two, this is when I feel whole. These images were taken last month (March 13th to be more precise). The Spring was already in the air back then, but now it is in full bloom. Welcome Spring! Welcome April!

Split. Ovaj grad je sposoban proizvesti čaroliju.  Vrlo suptilnu čaroliju koja ti se uvuče pod kožu bez da to primijetiš. Split. Gdje je more uvijek kristalno čisto. Split. Moj grad, moj djetinjstvo. Split. Na engleskome jeziku ta riječ (koja ovisno o kontekstu u ovim obliku može biti glagol, imenica i pridjev, a u svim slučajevima njeno značenje je podijeljenost) ima značenje koja mi je jako blisko. Često se osjećam kao da sam podijeljena na dva dijela, podijeljena između svojih želja, svojih planova, svojih uzaludnih pokušaja da budem na dva mjesta odjednom koji su pojačani nevjerojatnom tvrdoglavošću koja uvijek dobija nove dimenzije.   Tipična bikica. Uvijek si zadajem ciljeve koji su teški za postići, uvijek se trudim dostići neke svoje (nemoguće) visoke standarde. Pa, gotovo uvijek. Ponekad prošetam s mužem, opustim se i podijelim te fotografije sa vama. Predivno je biti vani kada se priroda budi iz sna. To su trenuci kada se ne osjećam podijeljena na dva dijela, tada se osjećam cijela. Ove su fotografije napravljene prošloga mjeseca ( trinaesti ožujka da budem precizna). Već je tada proljeće bilo uz zraku, a sada je baš u punom cvatu. Dobrodošlo proljeće! Dobrodošao travnju!

    Definitely, Split is amazing city and I'm pretty sure that if I'll be there right now, I'll staring at the water in the sea, it's so clear! You grew up in terrific place, Ivana :) And to be honest, I'm also sometimes try to my best to make everything perfect, but when I'm nearby nature, I change my point of view and finally, I relax.     Ovo mi je možda jedan od tvojih najdražih tekstova. Poređenje Splita sa podeljenošću, kako bukvalno, tako i sa tvojim osećajem je dostojno pravog pisca. I sama se pronalazim u tvojim rečima i često bih volela da nisam ta "tvrdoglava bakica" ;) Nije lako biti podeljen, ni što se gradova tiče, kao što je naša situacija, niti u vezi bilo čega drugog, ali to je ujedno i bogatstvo jer koliko ljudi je tu gde jeste i ne mrda ni fižički, niti mentalno. Žive život životareći. Ja ipak biram ovo drugo i te neke naizgled nedostupne ciljeve. Znam da i ti :) I da ne zaboravim, fotografije su magične i iako nisam bila u Splitu, vidim i osećam zbog čega je tako poseban. Ti izgledaš divno i tako bezbrižno, a te vesele boje se tako lepo uklapaju uz more :)

      istina, na jedan način je to i veliko bogatsvo...možda je i bolje imati više od jednoga doma i biti vezan uz više mjesta. Drago mi je što ti se svidio tekst.

    Nisam bikica, ali sam ovnica i izgleda da smo mi svi "rogonje" jednaki. :D O tim visokim standardima za samu sebe mogla bih knjigu napisati...rad, rad, puno rada da budem malo popustljivija prema sebi, par koraka naprijed, par nazad, no dobro...život je i tako jedna velika škola. :)
    A opet, ima nešto i u tome što je Tijana napisala. :)
    Zavidim ti, kao i Matei, na svim tim "obalnim" fotkama i što je je, kristalno je čisto to naše divno more. <3

      negdje sam pročitala ( u nekoj stručnoj knjizi) da je Hrvatska na takvom položaju da je cirkulacija mora uvijek na najvišem nivou. Ja vjerujem da je i na drugim mjestima na Jadranu, a na kraju krajeva i Mediteranu, more jako čisto, ali mi imamo tu sreću da smo na nekoj najboljoj poziciji što se tiče same bistrine mora. More može jako čisto i kada nije bistro, ali ipak ga je lijepo vidjeti kada je ovakvo baš kao neki planinski potok.

    Moja je velika želja da posetim prekrasni Split i uopste hrvatsko primorje jer sam bila jako mala kada sam letovala u čini mi se Cavtatu i nažalost se ne secam. In this post, I'll review " Forgiveness Day" , a science fiction novella that is a part of the Hainish Circle. Published in 1995, "Forgiveness Day " won multiple awards. This novella is often published together with her other novellas from the Hainish Circle, and it can be find in various editions of Four Ways to Forgiveness and Five Ways to Forgiveness.   Thematically, this novella is a part of five stories featuring two Hainish planets, but it can definitely be read on its own. I think it functions well as a stand alone novella. I listened to it in audio form, and I didn't have any problems following the story.  The world building is simple and effective.
