DIY of the day (how to make an eco friendly necklace?) / Napravi sam projekt dana (kako napraviti ekološku ogrlicu?)

Well, obviously the best way to make an eco friendly necklace is to use either organic or recycled materials. I made this necklace  using the latter, that is,  extra fabric from one red denim skirt, little bit of cardboard, a bit of fabric old pillowcase and red acrylic paint

The base of the necklace is made from red denim, I just tied them together. The necklace  has one big heart attached to it. The heart you see is made from cardboard and it is covered first with white fabric from an old pillow case (sewn over it, not glued to it). Finally, I decorated the heart with acrylic paints.

That's it! About 15 minutes of work and you end up with a really unique necklace. Will you try it?

Petnaestak minuta posla i dobijete posve jedinstveno ogrlicu. Hoćete li pokušati?

  4. Dear Ivana, if I would have as impressing skils in DIY than you than I would try it for sure! Love the result - not only because your DIY necklace is red, which means in the favourite colour of both of us :) Hopefully you have now better weather ... here in Bavaria it is sunny but honestly more chilly than warm as in the mountains we have still (and again) snow. Happy weekend!

  5. This is a great way to use extra scraps of fabric. I'm going to have to look in my closet to see if I have anything to use to try to make one.

  8. It would be nice to see it on you, hopefully soon! This is a nice way to express one's creativity and to give a second life to those materials. I too like eco-friendly pieces, there are a few necklaces and earrings made of recycled paper in my collection as well as of bamboo.

  16. That's a great idea and I love how it looks! I tend to make raggedy flower brooches out of fabric scraps and have a bracelet I've been intending to make for some time now with a particular fabric scrap. xo
