drawing a drawning...crtanje crteža

One thing I love about drawing (or painting) is that it makes me look at things like it is the absolutely first time I've seen them. Sometimes it feels like being reborn, this immersing myself into an image, trying to look at it from different perspectives. Often it's not about the things I'm seeing, it's about what the image of them resonates with inside of me. In some ways, art can be quite selfish. It is a feeling, or an experience if you will that I'm searching for...a way for me to explain something to myself, perhaps even a way of making myself play this difficult game of life. What I feel when I look at it, but even more what I felt while making it....that is the only thing that matters to me.

  7. Oh wow, Ivana you are so talented. I absolutely agree with on the way we interpret images we see and how they translate in our drawings. You may see the same thing so differently from someone else but that is the beauty of art. Great job!

I really like this sketch, so much detailing and sunset photos are just stunning! Long time passed since I last visited Split, which is kind of sad for me.

  11. It's really great that you are trying to paint from nature, it always helps to improve drawing skills and get some inspiration. I also like what you wrote there, it's true! Art always helps us to look deeper. I think you are a very special person with such an artistic perception of the world, Ivana:)

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism.
