Come what may I shall love you until my dying day (illustration/ ilustracija)







Come what may I shall love you until my dying day....I imagine this line got stuck in my mind first time I heard that Moulin Rouge soundtrack song (even if there the lines go ' I will love you...' instead of ' I shall love you...' but I guess that may be subconscious regret that the 'shall' is becoming somewhat of an archaic word in the English language) Anyhow, that would be the explanation behind the line and the inspiration for the illustration is the same as the one behind the song: love.

Come what may I shall love you until my dying day...pretpostavljam da mi se ovaj izraz uvukao u glavu još otkada sam čula sountrack za Moulin Rouge (samo je shall umjesto will, ali možda je to moje podsvjesno žaljenje što shall postaje arhaično u engleskom jeziku) Uglavnom to je objašnjenje iza naziva ilustracija, a sama ilustracija je kao i pjesma nadahnuta : ljubavlju.

    I was also taught that "shall" is an archaic word, so I'm not using it often. I just hope that the word "love" would never become an archaic one:) That drawing is so sad and dramatic to my mind. I remember where was time in my life, when I was drawing really scaring pictures, my mom was really terrified about my mental condition. But at the same time in an agony of grief I consider myself to be the most inspired and creative

      I've always been puzzled about the connection between sadness and creativity...but I think that often there is more to sadness than we want to acknowledge because often there is a reason behind it (and sometimes something we don't want to admit to ourselves) so art may be helping us find answers in our soul...and sometimes perhaps even at places that are not accessible to words.

    Kada sam počela da učim engleski pre 100 godina, shall se nekako još uvek i korisitio, a sad pa i ne baš. U svakom slučaju mislim da je jako lepa i nekako prefinjena reč i da je šteta što neko ko danas možda kreće da uči misli da je arhaizam, ako se uopšte i susreće sa njom... Crtež i cela priča oko njega su mi kao i uvek predivni :)

      mogu ti reći da i sama ne znam što bi nekome savjetovala da koristi. U školama se radi s Oxford udžbenicima...a djeca i mladi nekako najviše upijaju engleski američkog govornog područja, tako da i nastavnici nekad nisu na čisto na kojoj varijanti ustrajati...ako ikad budem te sreće da se uspijem zaposliti u školi, morat ću o tome dobro razmisliti:)

      laptop je jadan starina, ali još se drži koliko može:) ne mogu vjerovati da još radi poslije tolikih godina....

      I meni je film super (a i pjesma, zapravo sve pjesme iz tog filma)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you today? I'm back with another Ursula K. Le Guin book review. In this post, I'll review " Forgiveness Day" , a science fiction novella that is a part of the Hainish Circle. Published in 1995, "Forgiveness Day " won multiple awards. This novella is often published together with her other novellas from the Hainish Circle, and it can be find in various editions of Four Ways to Forgiveness and Five Ways to Forgiveness.   Thematically, this novella is a part of five stories featuring two Hainish planets, but it can definitely be read on its own. I think it functions well as a stand alone novella. I listened to it in audio form, and I didn't have any problems following the story.  The world building is simple and effective.
