All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily. The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? Today we'll analyze Malena's style and see what we can learn from her. There is much to learn! Having analyzed looks that Monica wore in iconic Malena film, I&
Hello, how are you doing? Today we're reviewing a non fiction book- The Shaping of the Modern Mind . Book reviews and recommendations are an essential aspect of my blog, but usually my reading choices lean towards fiction, mostly fine literature. However, today I'll be reviewing a book that could be labelled as an academical reading belonging to humanities. As someone who studied literature, this is right up my alley. The book is academical, but it's not hard to follow. Moreover, it's not very long either. It's not a comprehensive survey of modern thought, but it's an useful guidebook. This was also my first book by this author. I think I'll try and read more of him in the future. I should try and read more non fiction! How about you? Do you prefer fiction or non fiction? How to read more and/or transform yourself into a person that reads on daily basis? Learn these 7 reading strategies! I picked up this book at a vintage bookshop in Split . The books in
My outfit proposal of the day is a casual one. I feel that not too long ago a blazer worn with jeans wouldn't have been exactly my first choice, especially paired with dad's sneakers, but times are changing. One of fun things about trends is that they can make you step outside of your comfort zone a little bit. Obviously, we shouldn't follow trends just for the sake of following them, but often they can give us inspiration. I certainly like to look at them that way, as a source of inspiration. Fashion moves in circles, so playing up with trends doesn't really have to cost anything, especially if you have already mastered shopping your own closet. The athletic sneaker trend is certainly a tempting one. It's hard to say not to the comfy sneakers trend, especially when you enjoy hiking and strolling around as much as I do. Most people do have an ugly sneaker in their closet. It is possibly the most comfortable option out there, so why not try styling it for every day?
Can we wear knits in spring time? I've been wearing them in spring time for a long as I can remember, but somehow I still find myself asking this question from time to time. Are sweaters really meant for spring? I suppose that sweaters and knits aren't the first thing that comes to our mind when we think of spring outfits. However, spring isn't always about perfect sunny weather. Sometimes we need layers and there is where knits come into picture. As tempting as it might be to pack all your cardigans and sweaters away once spring makes its appearance, sometimes it is really better to hold on to them. In reality, cardigans and sweaters can be your best friends in spring time. They are simply perfect for layering and we all know that layering is a must when weather is unpredictable. How to style knits for spring? They are actually not that hard to style, especially those that come in lighter or pastel shades. In my experience, most knits look great worn with jeans, light d
I honestly don't remember when I enjoyed a novel as much as Les Miserable s by Victor Hugo and that, taken the fact that literature is a huge part of my life, is saying a lot. I loved absolutely everything about it, not just the characters and the story but also those parts that were historical and philosophical. This is a true classic and I good reminder to myself why it is always a good idea to get back to the classics. Now, about the outfit. Cat ears that I'm wearing started out as a necklace, worked part time as a belt and a bracelet, but you know how it is with jewellery I make, I always find new uses for it. Sometimes I think about the different function in the process of designing my pieces, but sometimes I get ideas as time goes up. This necklace I'm wearing is also my creation. Iskreno se ne sjećam kada sam uživala u nekom romanu tako kao u Jadnicima Victora Huga i to nije mala stvar za reći, s obzirom na to koliko je prostora u mom životu posvećeno baš knjiže
How to wear yellow in summer? Like with any trend, if you are not sure how to tackle it, start slow. Baby steps. You can always warm up to this colour with accessories. Why not try wearing a yellow belt or a scarf? Here, for example, I wore a yellow scarf around my straw hat. Similarly, a yellow bag might be a great choice. Yellow bag is not only a great pop of colour in the summer, it is also a bag you can wear all year around. In my experience, a yellow bag is a fantastic way to cheer up any outfit. Similarly, you can take it from there and pick one clothing item in yellow while keeping the rest of the outfit in black (or whatever colour you prefer). For me personally, yellow is an easy choice. I can even imagine myself in a total yellow outfit. This plastic yellow bag I'm wearing here is an old find. I must have worn this bag a hundred times. This cropped yellow top is pretty old as well. It's from a Croatian brand that no longer exists but that I used to wear all th
It is time for another Inspired by feature on my blog. This feature consists of my illustrations, paintings or drawings of fashion bloggers. I'm trying to make this feature a daily one, perhaps that is a tad bit too ambitious, but it would be pretty cool if I could orgazine something like that. What do you think about it? How do you like this feature? How often would you like to see it? Every day? Or is a few times a month enough? How about my other fashion illustrations? How often would you like to see them? Would you like to see more of them in one post or only one illustration per post? I know I'm asking a lot of questions today, but I'm looking for some feedback. I'm interested in what my readers think about this little place of my own. So, tell me what do you want to see on this blog in the future? More illustrations or more outfit posts? More travel posts or more DIY stuff? Let's get back to this drawing. As you can see the medium is coloured pencils on pape
Ruffles are here to stay! Is it just me or have printed ruffle skirts really been trending this summer? I keep seeing printed ruffled skirts around, especially in midi length. I really like this trend so I prepared my own styling suggestion. My outfit proposal of the day is all about styling a ruffle skirt so it's suitable for every day wear, but it still looks a bit dressed up (which is basically something I'm always trying to achieve because I like to feel a bit dressed up). Anyhow, I paired this ruffle skirt with a printed t- shirt I got from my aunt. I do like the print: 'Awesome's girls club'. It's sounds like a club I would like to join! Perhaps I should start one? What do you say? My aunt (who doesn't speak English btw), had actually asked the sale's girl to translate the writing before she bought this tee. Isn't that sweet? You know, I'd say that printed tees are a great way to make any outfit more casual and daytime appropriate. Still,
