All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism.
How to wear big puffed sleeves without looking like a Disney princess? Not that there is anything wrong with looking like a Disney princess, but maybe you have been wondering how to wear dramatically puffed sleeves on everyday basis. Actually, I've been asking myself the same question. I'm very keen on this trend of oversize sleeves, but figuring out how to wear them in a casual way proved to be something of a challenge. When I bought this dress ( I'm not very keen of shopping, but when I saw this one I just had to have it), the answer presented itself. Denim. Yes, denim. That magical ingredient that instantly makes every outfit look more casual. Nothing helps dress down a look than a piece of denim, be it a pair of jeans (or jeggings in this case) or a denim vest. I knew that this dress won't be long enough for my liking when I bought it, but I figured that I can wear it with jeans...and what you know, it looks great worn with jeggings. It looks like I found my
I've had good luck with reading this month. I started reading The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud and I quite enjoy it. I'm still under impression of The Sea Lady . It is such an amazing novel. I finally got to reading Maya Angelou and I loved her, Jazz by Toni Morrison was as deep and profound as Beloved . Have you read any of these? Perhaps the novels are what I will remember this month for. Do you have any reading recommendations for me? Imala sam sreće s čitanjem ovog mjeseca. Počela sam čitati Amulet iz Samarkanda i baš u njemu uživam. Još sam pod dojmom romana Margaret Drabble (u orginalu The Sea Lady kod nas još koliko znam nije preveden). konačno sam počela čitati Mayu Angelou.
A few days ago a package from wholesalebuying arrived. This was my second collaboration with this site and so far so good. Check out their top sellers here . This time I ordered this pair of heels. I've been eyeing them for a while now. I'm really happy I ordered them because they look even better than on the site. I'm only sorry that my foot is still swollen, so I wasn't able to take them for a proper walk. Instead of that, I just took some photographs indoors. These are photos from my instagram, as I don't have my cam or my photograph with me. Have a lovely day everyone!
Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I'll share what I wore to a traditional wedding in Herzegovina. Some vintage dresses are more special than others. This royal blue one falls into the category of more special ones. Not just because this long formal dress is absolutely gorgeous (more about that later) but because there's a story to it. Worn for several wedding celebrations spanning several decades, this dress has lived quite an interesting life! This long blue pleated dress was a gift from my aunt. My aunt Nena actually wore it to her wedding! This blue dress wasn't her dress, but the formal dress she changed into after reception. Back when my aunt was young, that was the norm. The brides would typically get married in one dress and change to another later. Our Croatian traditional weddings were never a reception sort of things, they are typically quite elaborate. Croatian wedding were always an all night affair (the wedding celebrations and customs somet
Holiday season teaches us one important lesson: giving can feel fantastic. Isn't it so? If you feel like you haven't gifted enough or to you heart content this Christmas and you feel like giving more, you're probably looking for New Year present proposals. Today I'm back with some arty New Year gift ideas. If you're looking for some New Year shopping inspiration, you've come to the right place. I've put together a little selection of products (mostly from Redbubble) to help you decide. I've also left a link to the square neck dress I'm wearing in this post. Pairing a square neck dress with a shirt or a turtleneck can be a great idea for a New Year outfit, especially if you want to make sure you feel cozy and warm. If you haven't already, you can also read my tips for choosing the perfect festive outfit. While you're at it, feel free to read my tips for lowering stress levels during the holidays . Alright, now let's get back to theme of
Late Summer. Finally, I can sense the transition in the air, that sense of change that is so much more than just the fact of temperature starting to drop. The nature is starting to dance according to a new beat and everything is about to change. The air is beginning to cool down, epecially in the morning and in the evening. Still, the Summer lingers. Caught between the seasons feels like being caught up in some old memory, Hidding away from life in some old jazz bar, caught between the desire to act and to withdraw. Yet, what is life? Isn't it also memories and being wrapped up in our thoughts? Isn't it also a sense of change and uncertainty? Kasno ljeto. Zrak postaje hladniji, pogotovo ujutro i navečer.
First of all, thank you all for your kind messages on my last post. In this post, I will share a new watercolour portrait sketch with you. I didn't use a reference for this one, I just sketched it from my head. The idea was to practice 3/4 side portrait. I feel like I need all the portrait practice I can get. I remind myself that quick portrait practice still counts. I'm still not very focused on portrait making, but I do like doing these quick portrait sketches. I know I will need to invest a lot more time and effort if I want my portraits painting to start looking as good as my landscape paintings, but I feel these quick sketches help me stay in shape until I set aside enough time to get better at portrait art. Right now, I still don't have a definite style when it comes to portraits. Anyhow, this one was actually supposed to remain just a quick sketch, but at one point I just decided to finish it. So, I added more detail and basically turned it into a quick portrait.
Hello, in this post, I'll share my review for a book of essays and two outfits I wore recently in Split city, Croatia. As you all might know, Split is my home city, but for a quite some time now, I have lived between two cities: Split and Mostar. Anyway, I did some vintage shopping in Split, buying both books and clothes. So, you can expect more vintage book reviews and outfits coming! The book of essays in question is titled Great Essays in Science and edited by Martin Gardner. It contains 30 scientific essays on different topics. Most of the essays are still relevant and quite interesting. Honestly, I found only a few of them a bit dated and only one was tiresome. All the rest were quite fascinating, even those that felt a bit dated. So, I'm really happy I got this book. I'm sure I'll be rereading this collection of essays. You will be able to read my full review at the end of this post. However, first we'll talk fashion and location a bit. A SQUARE OF FOUR DUC
It's more than a year since I moved to Jelsa on island Hvar. I took a last minute job offer and I definitely didn't regret my decision. It all went well despite the fact that this was a challenging year for everyone. While I was here, I worked full time and even manage some free lance work. Now, that my work contract is over, I'll be moving back to Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Not before reflecting on my year in Jelsa on island Hvar, though! Today I'll show you five outfits I wore for exploring Jelsa on island Hvar. There will probably be more posts from island Hvar to come. Honestly, I have no idea how I find the time to blog sometimes, but somehow I always do. Maybe because I have such lovely readers who always leave me interesting comments. That definitely keeps me motivated to blog even after all this time and during busy or stressful periods of my life. #1 MUSTRAD SWEATER WORN WITH NAVY FLARE PANTS AND LEOPARD HEELS I love this kind of easy but chic autum
