Today I shall review The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak. I was actually gifted this book. What a wonderful present it proved to be! Published in 2021, this postmodern  novel  follows two  story lines and uses framed narration.  The Island of Missing Trees  tells the life story of a Greek Turkish couple and their adolescent daughter.  This novel examines and explores a number of topics such as identity, migration, immigrant life, war trauma, memory, love and family. It's an ambitious novel that examines serious topics with due respect and sensitivity . I read it months ago, but I remember it vividly. Honestly, I cried a lot while reading this novel. It really moved me greatly. In fact, that is probably why it took me this long to finish this book review. Two ways to wear a scarf. Nothing revolutionary. If you want more inspiration, you will have to click this old  post  of mine. The first suggestion I'm trowing your way is just tieing a scarf in a bow. Nice, simple and bound to give every outfit a feminine touch. Do you agree? The other way is to secure a scarf with a belt. You must have took notice of  'belted scarf' trend last year. I think we will be seeing it in the upcoming Autumn and Winter season as well. I'm trying to get out of my comfort zone and wear more black, but even when I choose an all black outfit, I feel a need for accessories that will be anything but.   Dva načina za nositi šal. 10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.  The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? Hello, dear readers and fellow bloggers! In this post, I shall share three outfits and a book review. The stunning location for the photographs is Jelsa on island Hvar. I've blogged about this little touristic gem many times and you'll find more links about Jelsa towards the end of the post. Now, about the reading recommendations of the day. I'll be reviewing Windhaven , a science fiction novel by George R.R. Martin and Lisa Turtle. I read this novel years ago, but I still haven't reviewed it on this blog. Better late than never, right?  The outfits I'm sharing are a few transitional looks I wore in September in Jelsa. August and September were eventful months, with the move, job changes and so on. THE MASTERS BY URSULA K. LE GUIN (SHORT STORY REVIEW)

Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you doing? I've actually just returned from an unplanned vacation...and guess what?  I'm back with another Le Guin reading recommendation. In my past post, I reviewed Tenahu, the fourth book in the Earthsea Cycle by Ursula K. Le Guin. Today I'll recommend and review a STEM themed short story from Ursula K. Le Guin! If you haven't noticed, I'm something of a fan. The short story in question is titled The Masters . It's one of Ursula's early works. If I'm not mistaken, it's her first or second published work. Some sources list is as first publish work, some as the second one.  Published in 1963, this short story is set in a dystopian future. It opens with a young protagonist undergoing an initiation of some kind. Soon, we as readers learn more about this initiation as well as the dystopian society he lives in.
