All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
Hello! In this post, I'll take you back to Split city to share a book review and an outfit post. I'll review a book that made be both cry and laugh. You could say I believe in fate. Never has fate seemed more obvious to me than when it comes to books. So many times in my life has a book arrived at the right time! Every time that happened, I would wonder: 'What are the odds of that?' There's a whole story behind how I bought this book, and I will share a more detailed account soon. Until then, I'll give you a short version. I googled events in Split city and saw there was a promotion at Split city library. I have to say this was the best book promotion I have ever attended for a number of reasons. I'll get back to them as I don't have time to go in detail right now. I'm literally typing this on my cellphone, sitting in a café in Split city. What kind of novel is this? Written in Dalmatian dialect, an autobiographical novel by Croatian author Venera
POST UPDATE 2024 FRIDAY FASHION ILLUSTRATION: FANTASY Let's TALK illustration. Sometimes I illustrate items that I actually wear. Sometimes I illustrate my own outfits. Sometimes I illustrate other bloggers. I HAVE ILLUSTRATED THIS LEATHER JACKET TWICE! HERE & HERE Browsing my archives I realized that I have illustrated this leather jacket at least twice before. Moreover, counting the post today I have illustrated this pair of high brown boots four times! Is it me or am I starting to wear the items I have illustrated more often? Do you think that's possible? Perhaps illustrating them creates a sort of visual fashion memento in my head. SHOULD YOU USE A REFERENCE WHEN PRACTICING FASHION ILLUSTRATION? Is reference important? Should I drew with a reference or from imagination? My answer would be that you should do both. When I wrote about ten ways to improve your fashion illustration skills, both drawing with and without reference made my list of tips. I said that
I don't usually take a lot of photos with my smartphone, because the quality is not that great but looking back at photos taken these two last months, there are some that I'd like to share.... Baš i ne slikavam puno s mobitelom jer nije dobra kvaliteta fotografija, ali gledajući slike uslikane zadnja dva mjeseca, vidim da ima nekih koje bi ipak voljela podijeliti tako da.... With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily. The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? Today we'll analyze Malena's style and see what we can learn from her. There is much to learn! Having analyzed looks that Monica wore in iconic Malena film, I&
When we talk about travelling outfits, comfort is definitely something we need to consider. Everyone wants to be comfortable when travelling, right? As much as visiting a certain town or resort can be fun and relaxing, the process of getting there might be a little stressful. Comfort is definitely important. However, the thing is that everyone has a different definition of comfort. Some ladies might feel perfectly comfortable in a dress, while others might prefer the typical jeans and tee outfit formula. Sure, it makes sense to follow some rules. Opting for practical and utility wear might make your life easier when travelling. Similarly, wearing breathable, comfortable and natural fabrics in summer makes sense. However, what if you have a fabulous polyester vintage item you're dying to wear? You know, if that vintage polyester item makes you feel good, wearing it probably makes sense. When it comes to summer travel style, being reasonable and practical is important. Howe
I honestly don't remember when I enjoyed a novel as much as Les Miserable s by Victor Hugo and that, taken the fact that literature is a huge part of my life, is saying a lot. I loved absolutely everything about it, not just the characters and the story but also those parts that were historical and philosophical. This is a true classic and I good reminder to myself why it is always a good idea to get back to the classics. Now, about the outfit. Cat ears that I'm wearing started out as a necklace, worked part time as a belt and a bracelet, but you know how it is with jewellery I make, I always find new uses for it. Sometimes I think about the different function in the process of designing my pieces, but sometimes I get ideas as time goes up. This necklace I'm wearing is also my creation. Iskreno se ne sjećam kada sam uživala u nekom romanu tako kao u Jadnicima Victora Huga i to nije mala stvar za reći, s obzirom na to koliko je prostora u mom životu posvećeno baš knjiže
When you title your blog post ‘book review and recommendation’, you’re basically inserting a spoiler in your title. If you’re recommending the book, then you must have liked it. Yes, I can’t argue with that. To tell you the truth, when I’m writing book reviews, I don’t like to keep my readers in suspense. Hence I will tell you right away that I really enjoyed reading this book. What motivates me to me write any book review is the fact that I want to talk about it and share that (preferably positive) experience. Very rarely will I be motivated to write in length about some book that I didn’t fancy because well that just doesn’t sound very exciting, does it? There would have to be some specific reason to prompt me to do something like that. Now that is settled, let’s talk about this book. First of all, it is visually stunning. The design is fantastic, the layout is gorgeous and the pages are very thick. You visual tipes will love it for all those lovely illustrations and phot
I feel that a yellow blazer is a great transition piece for Autumn because it matches well with most autumnal colours. Moreover, a yellow blazer is a fantastic way to bring some colour into our autumn outfits. Blazers are my go to pieces not just for transitional outfits but for all seasons. Nothing makes an outfit more put together than a nice blazer. A quality blazer is a great investment. Most of the blazers I own are either second hand or vintage. Some of them are hand made and one of them I had made at a local seamstress. When it comes to blazers, I find it easy to resist fast fashion just because I feel that older or vintage blazers are more quality made. This particular yellow blazer was inherited from another family member. It is actually a part of a set (it came with a matching yellow mini skirt you can see here ). I don't often wear it as set because I rarely wear mini skirts. I do like bellow the knee length but mini is a bit too short for comfort for me (most of the ti
Hello dear readers and fellow bloggers! How are you? Today I'll show you twenty ways to wear a pair of heeled white sandals. You know I'm into sustainable fashion and one of the best ways to be more green is to make the most out of our closet. Anyhow, I purchased these white leather sandals with wood heels back in 2016. I was attracted to this pair immediately. What impressed me in particular was the unique heel design. I got a lot of wear of this white pair. I always enjoy wearing these sandals because they are not only chic but also surprisingly comfortable. However, when one of the clasps broke, I retired these sandals. This summer I found them in my closet and decided to fix them and make them a part of my outfits again. I wore them quite a few times this summer already and I already have plans for incorporating them in my Autumn looks by layering them with socks, stockings and tights. Scroll down to see how I wore them this summer as well as to see some of my older styli
