odijevanje za buru/dressing for cold wind






There isn't really much to say about my outfit. My main goal when dressing in cold weather is to dress warmly. To add a bit of style to my winter outfits, I often focus on the accessories. I'm a big fan of belt over everything trend this winter so as you can see I'm even wearing one over a coat. It's a leather belt so that makes me feel even warmer. Red is one of my fav colours( and perhaps even the one for me) so that pretty much explains the accessories. Enjoy your week:)

My outfit proposal of the day is a casual one. I feel that not too long ago a blazer worn with jeans wouldn't have been exactly my first choice, especially paired with dad's sneakers, but times are changing. POST UPDATE 2024  FRIDAY FASHION ILLUSTRATION: FANTASY Let's TALK illustration.  Sometimes I illustrate items that I actually wear. 10 STYLE LESSONS LEARNED FROM MALENA/ MONICA BELLUCCI

With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily.  The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing).  Hello! In this post, I'll take you back to Split city to share a book review and an outfit post. I'll review a book that made be both cry and laugh. You could say I believe in fate. Never has fate seemed more obvious to me than when it comes to books. So many times in my life has a book arrived at the right time! Every time that happened, I would wonder: 'What are the odds of that?'  There's a whole story behind how I bought this  book, and I will share a more detailed account soon. Until then, I'll give you a short version. I googled events in Split city and saw there was a promotion at Split city library. Wearing the First Dress I Ever Made: A Grey Midi Dress

Here it is: the first dress I have ever made entirely by myself. I did make some summer dresses in the past, but I had sown them without a pattern and a sewing machine and at any rate I wouldn't call them very accomplished. I mean, they weren't nearly as polished as this dress and they were not nearly as complex to make. I'm very happy with how this dress turned out. I'm even happier I took this sewing course in the first place because now I can make more dresses like this one! If you remember my November highlights  post , you might remember that I've mentioned how I've recently finished a beginning fashion tailoring and sewing course with designer Stanka Zovko.  I promised to show you the dress I made for my course 'graduation'. Les Miserables (outfit post+ book recommendation/ odjevna objava+ preporuka knjige)

I honestly don't remember when I enjoyed a novel as much as Les Miserable s by Victor Hugo and that, taken the fact that literature is a huge part of my life, is saying a lot. I loved absolutely everything about it, not just the characters and the story but also those parts that were historical and philosophical. This is a true classic and I good reminder to myself why it is always a good idea to get back to the classics. Now, about the outfit. Cat ears that I'm wearing started out as a necklace, worked part time as a belt and a bracelet, but you know how it is with jewellery I make, I always find new uses for it. Sometimes I think about the different function in the process of designing my pieces, but sometimes I get ideas as time goes up. This necklace I'm wearing is also my creation. Hello, how are you doing? Today we're reviewing a non fiction book-  The Shaping of the Modern Mind . Book reviews and recommendations are an essential aspect of my blog, but usually my reading choices lean towards fiction, mostly fine literature.  However, today I'll be reviewing a book that could be labelled as an academical reading belonging to humanities. As someone who studied literature, this is right up my alley. The book is academical, but it's not hard to follow. Moreover, it's not very long either. It's not a comprehensive survey of modern thought, but it's an useful guidebook. This was also my first book by this author. I think I'll try and read more of him in the future. Charlotte Perkins Gilman, The Yellow Wallpaper (book recommendation/preporuka knjiga)

Today just one quick reading recommendation. The Yellow Wallpape r is a short story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. It was published in 1899 (as you can see on these photographs). Here is a link to a pdf version of this text. The author's right are expired, so feel free to pass it around- it is one of advantages of reading classics:). I do consider this short story to be a classic. It tells a story of a woman who is recovering from post natal depression and is confined to her room. It is considered to one of the earliest works of American feminist literature. In its time it was a very important and ground breaking work because it shed more light on mistreatment of depression in woman (and in many ways it is still relevant), but I think that even if we put all of that aside, it is still a  great story.
