Fashion illustrations of the day- a touch of red goes a long way vs. all red styling (How to wear red accents vs. how to wear an all red outfit?)

Image
How to style red accents? If you want to play it safe, you can always pair red accents with a monochrome or black and white combinations. If you feel a bit more bold, why not wear them with something a bit more colourful? Today I have prepared two fashion illustrations for you (both drawn with coloured pencils in case anyone is wondering about the medium) that are all about red accessories. In addition, I prepared two illustrations that are all about putting together an all red outfit, but first things first. If you ask me, a touch of red always goes a long way. As I said, today I'm sharing two fashion illustrations that are dominated by red details. I would definitely say that the red heels are the eye-catcher in this first (illustrated) outfit I'm sharing. What is more gorgeous than seeing heels paired with a coat in winter time? However, I do love to see coats paired with flats as well. Maybe I just love coats. On second thought, maybe I just love fashion. Yup, t...

Creating a flower fantasy with the help of rose pedals (Fashion illustration of the day)

Image
Two days ago (in this post ), I told you how I'm still creating floral collages, so here I am with my flower fantasy design of the day. Playing with rose pedals is always fun, isn't it?  On another note, the book I'm currently reading is Absalom, Absalom by William Faulker. I'm taking my sweet time with this one. I was planning to read it by the end of 2017, but it is such a complex novel that I feel it demands my full attention. I often read several books at once, but this time I made an exception.  As long as I'm on the subject, I would also like to suggest Light In August and The Sound And The Fury by the same author. Both of those novels are very dear to me. I haven't set any reading goals for this year yet, but I do plan to read more classics. In addition, I would like to do one month in which I would only read only non-fiction books. I think that would be very interesting. Do you have any reading goals for this year? How do you like this illustration? ...

For the love of classics- Hero Of Our Time, a novel by Mikhail Lermontov ( book review & recommendation)

Image
It has been a while since I published a book review here, hasn't it? This is probably due to the fact that I have opened a special blog reserved just for book reviews. Still, I think it is not a bad idea to share an occasional book review & recommendation here as well. Alright, maybe it is not even that, maybe I just can't shut up about books no matter what. Anyhow, I recommended quite a few classics to you in the past and now it is time for another one. Hero of Our Tim e  (  Герой нашего времени)  was written by Mikhail Lermontov, a notable Russian writer and poet.  Published in 1840, this novel has a Byronic hero (some would say anti-hero) for its protagonist.  Hero Of Our Time   is a novel that I wanted to read since forever but it was not until last Summer that I had actually managed to do it. I knew what Hero Of Our Time was about. I did study literature, so naturally I had read about it a dozen of times, yet it wasn't until last year t...
