Bad news ,Good news, Great news (outfit post)..... Loše vijesti, dobre vijesti, sjajne vijesti (odjevna kombinacija)

My husband told me that he had some great news today while we were having dinner in one restaurant. I was eager to find out what he meant by it and he proudly showed me a newspaper article. It turned out that Klepetan finally returned to Malena and that means that Croatia can finally breathe freely. You see, Klepetan and Malena are a couple. Not just any couple. A bird couple. More precisely, they are storks. They have been together for 15 years and I reads somewhere that together they managed to raise 54 chicks. Impressive, isn't it? But that's not all.

Malena can't fly, so as you can imagine every year she awaits her lover eagerly. Every year he flies back to South Africa with all the other storks. Every year, he comes back to her. During his absence, she is taken care of by kind people. This year Klepetan was late. Really late. Everyone thought he was killed...but I was sure he will come back. Finally he returned to Malena and kicked out an impostor stork that moved in with Malena in their nest. So, happy end for everyone...except for the imposing stork that got kicked out, but well a bird has to defend his sweetheart right?

Bad news. My hand is still sore. Good news. I learned how to do embroidery with my left hand today. I attempted it today and actually it was easier than I thought. Now, all I have to learn is how to draw with my left hand. Fingers crossed. Fingers of my left hand naturally. The right hand is good for nothing at this point. I can't even hold a glass of water in it. So, I became left handed today. Not that I mind terribly. Life is full of surprises and  frankly I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

Anyway, until I learn to draw with my left hand, I will have to blog about other things unrelated to my art. Since I'm also sick at the moment that means going through my archives and what you know I have tons of outfits that I haven't shared because I was concentrating on other things. Actually, I've been a bit sick for a while, so you will forgive me if I occasionally don't make much sense. Since the Spring started, I've been going through various minor and unimportant but annoying health problems. First it was stomach flu, now it is throat infection and fever. Where was I? Yes, outfit posts. I'm going to stick with outfit posts for a while. You decide whether that is bad news, good news or great news.:)

Spring in Mostar city has been rather gorgeous. If you plan to visit Mostar, I would recommend visiting in this season. Everything is green....and Neretva river looks magnificent framed by all that greenery. Trust me, this river is worth the hype....and that is why I like to go for a stroll near it. In between viruses, colds and fevers that come with the territory, this is where I go for a walk. I will never get tired of this place, just like I will never get tired of the basics. Yes, basics. They may be different for everyone because everyone's taste is different.

For me, a turtleneck is a basic item. I wear them in all seasons except Summer...and sometimes even during Summer. It is not a modesty thing, I'm not trying to cover up anything, I just like them. I'm trying to remember when I started to like them so much, but perhaps I was always a fan of turtlenecks and polo necks. I do remember wearing them way back, but then nineties were a way back weren't they? And now they're trendy again. Somehow that almost makes me feel like I travelled back to my teenage years. Sometimes I dress like it too. Jeans, boots and turtlenecks. The only thing I don't remember wearing back when was a faux leather jacket. I'm not sure why....perhaps they weren't as available as they are today?

Remember those boots I mentioned not so long ago (here)? Well, I repainted them again. This is what they look like now. Or do they? I just remember that I repainted them again, but I can't remember what colour I used. This version of them seemed pretty nice, I don't know why I repainted it for. Well, maybe I'm just a restless soul. The jeans also have a DIY touch to them. I painted them myself. If you want to know more about painting on clothes, you can visit my old posts here, here and here. That's all for today. What follows is a few more photos and that's a wrap.

  2. I like your printed turtleneck and your boots are such a fun colour - it's great you can DIY and change them up so often, you'll never get bored with them! :)

Sorry to hear you've been so unwell though! I hope your hand heals quickly, it's great you can use your left hand but I imagine it would be very frustrating for you! Especially not being able to do your art, you really enjoy that. I suppose you've been able to do a lot more reading though! :)

Hope you are having a lovely week.

  8. That's lovely news about Klepetan and Malena. I'm sorry to hear that your hand is still bothering you. I hope that the inflammation will go down and it will feel better soon. It can be frustrating to not be able to use one of your hands but this might be your body's way of telling you to take it easy.

    1. It is a lovely story, isn't it? Every year I feel so happy for them.

It is definitely our body telling us we need to take it easy. Very often the pain is our body's way of letting us know something is wrong.

  11. Sorry to hear you haven't been well in various ways. That is r. I hope your hand is better soon, I guess I'll have to read backwards to find out what had happened to it! I also have a great fondness for turtle necks. I remember being smitten with a red turtle neck in the charity shop window when I was around 10! Someone got there before me which was sad but I did get a few wonderful items in that charity shop so I am grateful it was that red turtle neck that made me make my first foray into charity shopping!!

    1. thank you Kezzie for sharing that story about how you got interested in charity shopping. I shop at second hand shops from time to time. I think it's good for environment and like yourself I'm happy when I manage to find vintage items.

  12. Aww, this little story about the storks is so cute and beautiful! Animal relationships always amaze me. They form such long-lasting bonds that sometime seem even stronger than what we humans are capable of. I know of many animal species that bond for life, like foxes, for instance. Which is just so cute! :) 54 chicks is a lot of babies... I cannot imagine handling that, haha! Also, I hope you feel better soon, hun! A sore hand cannot be fun... Speaking of embroidery, I might have mentioned this before but I recently got into it myself, too, and it is honestly the best thing ever! There is just something so relaxing and soothing about knitting and sewing, and it's really helped me with my anxiety, also. I have been working on a pretty large piece and it's just the most fun thing ever. :) Hope you're well, my lovely! xoxo

    1. yes, it is very cute story. I know, 54 chicks is a lot:) but they don't have them all at once, chicks fly away on their own as soon as they can.

So great you're doing embroidery too.

  13. Uh draga, želim ti da se što pre oporaviš. Razumem te u potpunosti. Setim se uvek kako sam se namučila letos kad sam slomila kost na stopalu.
Slatka ti je odevna kombinacija, baš prava prolećna i udobna.

  14. The story about the stork couple brought tears to my eyes. I am so glad to read they are reunited again. That's true love isn't it. Sorry to hear about your sore hand, hope it will get better pretty soon. To learn how to draw with your left hand or if you a lefty with your right hand, turn a photo upside down and then draw it, even better if you practice it with watercolors. Wishing you and your family a very happy Easter, Ivana.

    1. yes, it is true love indeed. I haven't started practicing with my left because now my left is sore too ( because I can't do anything with my right).

    2. Oh no! I am so sorry, Ivana. Hope it will heal pretty soon, try to not use your hands too much, yes I know easier said than done. Cyber hugs, sweetie ((())

    3. yes, sometimes I must use them...but I think it won't be long before they heal, my left is already better (it was also starting to swell up because I used it all the time instead of my right hand). I think that now I stopped painting completely, they will both heal more quickly.

  16. This is a cool jeans outfit here I remember from LOOKBOOK recently. And normally, the busted knee look doesn't appeal much to me at all. These are still a cool pair of flared jeans to go with the boots and hoodie. Also, I like the sweater. Very cool!
