Making of a painting (green eyes ) / Pravljenje slike (zelenooka)

First of all, thank you for your feedback about what femininity means to you, I really appreciate it.  My thoughts on this subject are very much like your own. I might write more about that some day, but for today I have actually prepared and planned something else. So, let's talk about my painting of the day. Some people asked me (a while back) to explain my drawing/painting process, so I decided to make a few videos. I already posted some of them on YouTube and I will probably make and post a few more. I don't think I'm really qualified to make art tutorials, so this is more a 'making of' for the benefit of those of you who are curious to see it. Painting is a subject I'm still learning about. If you want, we can study together, but it is not something I can teach yet.

I'm qualified to teach and I actually studied to be a teacher but not an art teacher. I have my degree (and state certificate) in something else (I bet it isn't hard to guess what that something else is). I'm actually taking an art course myself in Michelangelo Gallery at the moment and it has been a lot of fun so far (great art teacher and class mates).  I do recommend it to other hobby artists. Anyhow, over the years I shared a lot of my work here on this little place on mine and I will probably continue to do so. I wrote about painting in a number of ways, sometimes in a  more personal way (like this essay here), other times those posts were more technical in nature as for example when I shared my experiences of painting with make up here and here

Zapravo trenutno i sama polazim tečaj u Michelangelo Galeriji u Mostaru i zasada mi je baš zabavno (odlični učitelji i polaznici).

FASHION ILLUSTRATION UPDATE:

MY MOST RECENT POSTS IN THIS CATEGORY:

FASHION ILLUSTRATION FRIDAY: MY SELECTION published on 24th of February.

AUTUMN AND WINTER INSPIRATION and published on 7th of October.

The point is, that if I think I have something interesting to share, I will. If I think I have some useful hack, a trick or whatever  you might use or enjoy, I will share it. That is what us bloggers (or content creators) do. We create content and we put it out there. It is not always as simple as it might seem. I think we have all received negative and even hateful comments at least once or twice in our blogging 'career'. How do you deal with negative or hateful comments? Have you ever had negative comments? What I think is problematic is not negative comments themselves, but those that are both hateful and negative. This is another topic I would like to talk about in more depth, but I will have to leave it for some other time.

  5. Your art course sounds really fun and interesting! I think no matter what level you may be at something, it's always enlightening to continue learning. I feel that way about photography and I'm with you on sharing helpful hacks or advice when it's relevant. As for negative comments, I haven't really had any but I think I wouldn't mind them as much if they were actually constructive which I think is what you're saying as well.

    1. you're right, we always need to continue learning. I feel the same way when it comes to languages...Often when I'm teaching somebody Croatian, I end up learning new words- even if it is my mother tongue, there is always something new I can learn about it. Same applies to English and other languages.

Yes, constructive comments are always good, but sometimes I see comments that are just pure envy---and those kind of comments are best ignored.

    1. I think that media is the correct words but sometimes I also combine different materials for example when I add pieces of cloth or other material.

  12. Davvero interessanti questi video Ivana!
    Baci!

  13. Another beautiful painting, Ivana. I love reading your posts-always.

I completely admire positive feedbacks, because I believe it usually takes a good heart to appreciate someone's hard work. I feel bad when I receive negative comments, but I also believe that it is their perception of the "subject," and it's okay if they don't agree with me sometimes; and many a times those negative comments show an extension of that person- the part of them they share with ourselves, with the world. So if those hateful comments hurt you- just delete it, ignore it..and move ahead. Focus on them who loves you, and your work.

  14. Dear Ivana, always highly appreciated you share here your broad know-how! I'm concinved you would be also a very good teacher for art and who knows one day maybe you will even teach art? Love the painting as usual.
About negative comments: fortunately I got them practically never on my blog - there have been only some in the Internet but I didn't react in this context. You deserve for sure only good comments!

All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism.
