All your comments mean a lot to me, even the criticism. Naravno da mi puno znači što ste uzeli vrijeme da nešto napišete, pa makar to bila i kritika. Per me le vostre parole sono sempre preziose anche quando si tratta di critiche.
Good morning, dear readers! Today I have a new spring outfit to present to you. I wore this spring styling for a coffee date with my husband. We walked around the town and enjoyed a lovely spring day. What town you might ask? The location for the post is lovely Mostar city and the designed photographer my husband. Mostar is always lovely but especially so in the Spring time. I always repeat that Spring is the best time to visit Mostar. Speaking of Mostar, the capital of Herzegovina, one shouldn't forget other visit worthy locations in this region. Herzegovina is simply dreamy in Spring time. I will link a few up for those who might be interested, so don't worry. W HAT TO SEE IN HERZEGOVINA? THESE TWO FORTRESSES AND NATIONAL PARKS- 2023 // AMAZING CITIES TO VISIT IN HERZEGOVINA-2019 // PROTECTED AREAS IN BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA- 2019 SPRING IN MOSTAR CITY I'm finally getting better in linking up things. I do it for myself, as well. I used to blog a lot, and I simply for
Welcome Spring! We welcome thy beauty! We also fear thy evil twin- The Spring Fatigue. Like in a telenovela, one rarely comes without the other. Both are inevitable, so let's just welcome the first and try to manage the other until it perishes (in a slow motion) in a fatal car accident. That's what always happened in the Latin soap operas (i.e telenovelas) that were all the rave when I was a kid (and that are the reason why many Croatian people have a pretty good passive understanding of Spanish without even learning it in school, but I digress). My point is that the beautiful Spring often comes accompanied with Spring Fatigue that can range from mild tiredness to extreme exhaustion. I mean Spring Fatigue is sometimes impossible to avoid. I googled it as many times as I could, and besides the general advice (sleep, eat and exercise well and so on), I didn't really find too much useful information. I guess we all have to find our ways to take the bad with the good! To all
It was over 40 degrees Celsius (that's over 100 Fahrenheit) when these photographs were taken. Seriously! I'm obviously a desert type when I'm able to enjoy being out at midday in a city that is practically an oven. If you did not know Mostar city is surrounded by mountains and hills which pretty much turns it into an urban oven. Yes, this city is a champion of unbelievably high temperatures during the Summer. So, this hat was as much a necessity as a fashion statement. Wearing a hat when temperature is over 100 Fahrenheit is a sound idea, believe me. Speaking of Fahrenheits, have you read Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury? You should, you know, it really is a brilliant dystopian novel. I find it uncanny how much some writers were able to guess the future, down to minute details. Every time when I ponder about our modern society problems and questionable practices, I think of this novel and I realize I'm not crazy. Some things are just wrong and that's the way it
Yellow is such a happy colour for me, one that I associate with sun and all things nice. Spring is a great time to opt for this colour that seems to invoke sunlight. If you're not sure how to wear more yellow, you might want to start with something simple- maybe a blazer. That brings us to the title of my post: How to style a yellow blazer for spring? A yellow blazer is a great way to refresh your spring wardrobe. The one I have is vintage, and a bit on the longer side. Lately I've taken to wearing vintage blazers with dresses, it's my favourite outfit formula right now. I love that it gives one freedom to play with colours, and it is so easy to dress it up and down. This kind of outfit can be appropriate for all kind of situations, from work to play options. One of those combinations that you can wear both for a date and for work. Blazers make any outfit more polished, and by choosing a blazer in a light colour, you'll also be invoking spring. Throwing on a blazer ove
Hello! Spring break is officially over for me. Today was my second day back at work and I'm exhausted. The first day was fun, we've all happy to see one another again and all that, but the second day tired me out. The end of the week is far away, too. It takes time to get used to working from 7 to 5 again. I divided my Spring break between my favourite three places and two countries: island Hvar & Split (in Croatia) and Mostar (in Bosnia and Herzegovina). I visited an art exhibition and that was fun, too. The art exhibition was by Croatian illustrator Filip Čulić. The exhibition included his illustrations and comic book art. It's open until the end of April, so if you're in Split, check it out (more information here ). I love Split's city library. They always organize fun stuff. There usually is always an exhibition of some kind at the central library. I'm a big fan of libraries. Library membership is the best money you'll ever spend. SLJEDEĆI TEKST J
With summer being in full spring, I caught myself thinking about iconic summer outfits. Do you know what came to my mind? Costumes/outfits worn by Monica Belluci when she played Malena Scordia in an iconic Italian movie set on Sicily. The costumes for that movie were designed by an acclaimed Italian costume designer Maurizio Millenotti and he outdone himself! Seeing that Malena is a historical movie, Maurizio choose quite timeless outfits and cuts that will ever go out of style. That fact makes Malena movie the perfect place to look for inspiration! Moreover, I feel that Monica Belluci's personal style is quite similar to Malena's (i.e. to the style of the character she is playing). There is definitely a Mediterranean lady feel about Malena/Monica Bellucci. What says summer better than Mediterranean and Sicily? Today we'll analyze Malena's style and see what we can learn from her. There is much to learn! Having analyzed looks that Monica wore in iconic Malena film, I&
I'm somewhat of an enthusiast when it comes to wearing summer dresses in autumn and winter. It may have to do with the fact that I enjoy a good challenge. Plus, I really like my dresses so wearing them all year around seems like something worth the effort. Today I'll show you 21 ways to wear this floral mini dress. Most of these outfits I have already shared, but some of them are new. I'm positively sure that I have worn this dress more than thirty times, but as I don't photograph all my outfits, I only have about twenty outfits on record. Let's take a look at them, shall we? HOW TO STYLE A MINI FLORAL DRESS FOR ANY SEASON? 1. WITH A WHITE SHIRT, A LEATHER JACKET AND HIGH BOOTS This outfit proposal is perfect for rainy autumn and winter ways. A leather jacket looks good with everything and a white shirt is always chic. I paired this look with high boots for extra comfort and warmth. The white and brown bag I picked matches both the white shirt and the br
When I woke up this morning, the first thing I did was walk to the kitchen. Naturally, I was there to make coffee (can’t start a day without it) but while I was at it, I decided to also make a nice cup of warm chocolate. I figured that one can’t have too many warm drinks when the weather is misbehaving. Plus, I wanted something to drink right away, and because preparing coffee my style takes a while (wouldn’t be caught dead drinking instant coffee;)) I opted for warm chocolate first and it was nice but I have to remember to make my own instant coffee again, I’m sure that stuff they sell in shops are full of all kinds of unhealthy stuff. Speaking of health, I have had a cold for a week now, my throat is still sore and my vocal cords are in pitiful state. I'm not a big fan of my voice right now, but most people seem to like it. Well, at least I’m unique this way. I can always tell people that I was out partying the previous night. Anyhow, while I was preparing my coffee/hot choco
'The Nellie, a cruising yawl, swung to her anchor without a flutter of the sails, and was at rest. The flood had made, the wind was nearly calm, and being bound down the river, the only thing for it was to come to and wait for the turn of the tide. The sea–reach of the Thames stretched before us like the beginning of an interminable waterway. In the offing the sea and the sky were welded together without a joint, and in the luminous space the tanned sails of the barges drifting up with the tide seemed to stand still in red clusters of canvas sharply peaked, with gleams of varnished sprits. A haze rested on the low shores that ran out to sea in vanishing flatness. The air was dark above Gravesend, and farther back still seemed condensed into a mournful gloom, brooding motionless over the biggest, and the greatest, town on earth.' Joseph Conrad, Heart of Darkness Do you tend to remember the opening para
